Sample Syllabi

These syllabi provide examples of how to lay material out over thirteen weeks of a semester, leaving room in fourteen weeks for an exam and course evaluations. They are only suggestive. Some instructors will not cover material in the order it is presented in the book, others will supplement selected sections with greater detail. Another possibility is for the instructor to cover certain sections in class, but also ask each student to choose a collection of additional sections that correspond to his or her research interest, and present this material to the rest of the class.
