Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) using Artemis

Why Artemis ? Well, she was the greek goddess of hunt, therefore she seems to be a good patron for a software package devoted to track down the movement of particles. Read more about her here.

Artemis is published under the GPL. You can download version 1.01 of Artemis here.

You can read the documentation online or download a Postscript. There is also an FAQ online.

Some results obtained with Artemis are published at PRE (same paper on the preprint server).

A small Demonstration of artemis at work: at the left side you see 9 raw images in an animated GIF-loop, on the right side all particles detected by Artemis, which move faster than 0.6 pixel/frame are drawn as white spots, the elctrode corresponds to the blue area.
